40th run of the year, 21st of the new program.
No draw from the deck; this run was on Pender Island and I wanted an interval run. Turns out to have been a good and not-good idea. 550m x 12 for a 6.6km total, with 60-sec rests (or more; a LOT more) between (and during) intervals.
This was an ass-beater; if Palm Springs has no elevation whatsoever, this run was a litany of disgusting hills, the kind only Gulf Islands can invent. The actual pre-edit GPS tally on this run had about 550m in elevation gain and the same in loss… Legs were thrashed for days after this. Intended to run on Aug 4th but simply couldn’t. Walking was challenging enough.
